The Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs has released information about the explosion near Kiev

The fire broke out at the warehouse of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ forensic center (NIEKTs) in the Kyiv region. According to RIA Novosti, the head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, Igor Klimenko, gave such data about the explosion near Kiev.

Several NIECC staff were hurt in the blast, he said. Klimenko also stated that the fire at the location was contained. Furthermore, the head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs claimed that the explosion could have occurred during an investigation of explosive objects in the forensic center. At the same time, he stated that details about the incident’s specific reasons are still being worked out.

The blasts in the Kiev region were previously reported. At the time, Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Ukraine’s capital, reported that the explosions occurred on the grounds of the industrial zone along the Ring Road. Following that, a fire broke out.

Meanwhile, the Strana.ua newspaper said that the incident occurred near a retail mall in the Sofiyivska Borshchagovka neighborhood.
