Melbourne: Four people died when two helicopters collided in Australia on Monday. Three others were seriously injured. As it is currently summer season in Australia, a large number of tourists come to Queensland’s Gold Coast to relax. Queensland’s Inspector Orrell stated that the incident took place when a helicopter was landing and another helicopter was taking off in the afternoon.
A number of police and rescue boats waited nearby, just off the sandbank where the two aircraft’s debris was scattered.
“Those two aircraft have crash-landed and crashed, just out from Sea World resort,” said acting Queensland Police Service inspector Gary Worrell after two planes collided.
As a result, four people were killed today, according to him.”Three additional patients are critical at the hospital.”
An inquiry into the incident—which Australia’s transport safety agency called a “mid-air collision”—was opened.
It added in a statement that investigators will soon arrive to investigate the debris, map the scene, and retrieve components for further analysis.
