Turkey: They were Rescued Alive 296 hours After the Earthquake

Three people, including a child, survived the rubble of a building in southern Turkey’s Antioch on Saturday, 296 hours after the earthquake struck.

Television images showed three people being carried into ambulances.

Meanwhile, the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria killed more than 45,000 people and destroyed nearly 264,000 apartments in Turkey, and the toll is expected to rise as many people are still missing in the country’s worst modern disaster.

Three survivors were pulled from the rubble in Turkey on Friday, eleven days after the earthquake. Turkey’s death toll stands at 39,672, while neighbouring Syria has killed more than 5,800.
