Totentham Hotspur star Lucas Moura has debunked the claim that Virgil van dijk is yet to dribbled upon and the notion that he is the best player in the world.
Van Dijk is regarded as the best defender/player in the world after helping Liverpool win the Champions League trophy and helping them keep their best defensive record. The Reds have kept 22 goals in 38 games which is a Premier League record.
Moura don’t get the concept of not been dribbled upon and had this to say when asked about the 28-year-old Dutch captain.
“Due, now this question there i don’t know if it’s true”, Lucas told Brazilian journalist Bolivia on YouTube channel Desimpedidos {via Sport Witness}.
“Have i already gone past him? I don’t know, but the guys must have gone past him now. I know i scored a goal against Liverpool {at Anfield in Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat n March}, we lost, but i scored against Liverpool and he was left behind. But he’s great. He is”.
Asked if Van Dijk is the best defender in the world, he added:
“In the world? There are a lot of people there. But for the season, i think he’s among the three. Among the three!
“Hey, the guy’s good. He’s two meters tall, strong, and the Liverpool team is a very good fit, with a lot of chemistry. So he had an excellent season”.
Moura was part of the Tottenham team that lost 2-1 to Liverpool in the Champions League final but he did make a name for himself by scoring a famous hat-trick against Ajax in the semi final of the Champions League second leg.
