This summer, Montauk in New York was dubbed the most expensive beach in the US, with an average hotel room costing $312 per night.
According to a recent rating by CheapHotels.org, which evaluated the lowest price guests would have to pay for the cheapest double accommodation at some of the most well-known beach spots throughout the US, that’s the case.
At the easternmost tip of Long Island, 177 kilometres from New York City, lies the town of Montauk, which has 5,000 acres of public parkland and beaches. Here, tourists may engage in sports like surfing, boating, golfing, hiking, horseback riding, bird watching, and camping.
Following Montauk is Nantucket, a tiny island in Massachusetts located 30 miles south of Cape Cod, where sunbathers would have to fork up an average of $285 a night.
Cannon Beach in Oregon comes in third.
