Andrew Jones, ELAC’s speaker designer, seems to go on a win here. The new ELAC Uni-Fi UF5 are incredible speakers that will be a hit on the market, especially at their price range.
ELAC Uni-Fi UF5 combine the excellent midrange of the UB5 bookshelf speakers and the “rock” from the Elac Debut.
So, customers who have not decided what Elac speakers to buy yet, should surely keep this one under consideration.
Of course, these new speakers are not perfect, but this is definitely the best sound quality that customers are paying for. It is hard to find a model under 2,000 dollars to handle sound like this one.
The previous Elac UB5 model was considered to be a carbon copy of the earlier Pioneer EBS73, while the UF5 model was originally made by Andrew Jones.
The new ELAC Uni-Fi UF5 are available at the price of 1,000 dollars, which is an affordable price for what these speakers have to offer. Moreover, these new speakers are better and cheaper than the EFS73 floorstander.
For customers who are owning a decent seize living area, floorstanding speakers are the best offer. ELAC Uni-Fi UF5 comes with three 5.25-inch aluminum woofers, 1-inch soft dome tweeter and 4-inch aluminum midrange drive used on the previous UB5
As for measurements, the new ELAC Uni-Fi UF5 is 38 inches high by 10 inches deep by 9 inches wide. For a better stabilization, these speakers come with a set of screw-on feet and are fitted with carpet-piercing spikes.
To be added that there are also some rubber caps in the box for use with hard floors. The veneer is the same vinyl that customers have met at previous models, and also the one used by Klipsch. We don’t have much to say about the veneer because it is fine and good-looking.
The weakest part of Andrew Jones’s design is given by the driver surrounds. They look good in their silver finish, but don’t really match with the front of the speaker, especially when running the finger around them.
However, if customers are looking for sleeker models, we should mention that the company also makes a Slim version of this new speaker. These Slim models are coming with the choice of a sating black or white painted finish.
The slim version of the new UF5 is also little thinner and will cost an extra 400 dollars. The company has declared that despite the dimensions, the internal volume is the same and it will sound identical. To be added that the new ELAC Uni-Fi UF5 comes with a lower than average nominal impedance of 4 ohms, having 3.4 ohms.
More specifically?
These new speakers will have the ability to sound their best with high quality, powerful receivers and amplifiers.
So, the new ELAC Uni-Fi UF5 is one of the best speakers on the market at this moment. With these new speakers, audiophiles are able to assemble a very powerful system around them and create an incredible sound.
