He had a dream of becoming neurosurgeon. Unfortunately,nhe couldn’t clear Pre Medical Test, but got through Pre Dental Test. He tooknadmission in K L E Institute, Belgaum from where he did Bachelor of DentalnSurgery. During his BDS days, he decided to become an IAS officer and startednpreparation. In 2008, he cracked UPSC Civil Services Examination and got AllnIndia Rank 132 and also IAS. After training, he was given Madhya Pradesh Cadre.

nTejaswi Nayak isnmarried to Swati Meena. As a matter of fact, Swati Meena is also an IASnofficer. She is two years senior to Tejaswi. She is also from the same state cadre;nMadhya Pradesh. They came in contact with each other while working on a samenproject and soon fell in love. They got married in 2014. There is no denyingnthat they make a very lovely and inspiring couple. It is interesting that SwatinMeena is an ST and hence while having very low rank in the UPSC Civil ServicesnExamination, she got IAS.

nTejaswi has andifferent style of working. He never acknowledge illegal demands ofnpoliticians. Because of this fact, he has found many times in the crosshairs ofnpoliticians. Even privileged motion was passed in the Madhya PradeshnLegislative Assembly against him by five MLAs, belonging to the ruling BJP andnCongress. He was accused by the Deputy Speaker of not answering the call. Innfact, in that case, Tejaswi had openly said that the Deputy Speaker, Mr. RajendranSingh who is a Congress leader, was asking for a personal favor.
