Thomas D’Alesandro Jr. and Annunciata M. “Nancy” D’Alesandro welcomed Nancy Pelosi into the world on March 26, 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland, in the United States. She was the youngest of her parents’ seven children. When she was born, her father was a Democratic congressman. Later, he also held the office of Mayor of Baltimore.

Thomas D’Alesandro III, her older brother, participated in politics and served as Baltimore’s mayor from 1967 to 1971.

Nancy Pelosi earned her diploma from the Institute of Notre Dame in 1958 and her bachelor’s degree in political science in 1962.

Nancy became involved in politics right away and assisted her father in running the campaign.

In the year 1963, Nancy and Paul Pelosi were united in marriage. Businessman Paul Pelosi is the CEO of Financial Leasing Services, Inc., a real estate and venture capital investment and consulting organisation with offices in San Francisco.

Political Career

After US Congresswoman Sala Buron suggested Nancy Pelosi run for office, she won a special election in 1987, launching her political career.

She entered politics after winning the 1987 election.

She has won 16 consecutive elections from the same seat since 1988.

She also held the office of House speaker from 2007 to 2011, and she still holds it now.

She is the only woman to have ever been elected House speaker in US history.
