After the jallikattu agitations ended on a sour note with a clash between police and protesters, release of the cop drama ‘Singam 3’, starring Suriya, has been postponed.

the producers of Suriya’s Singam 3 movie makers in dilemma over releasing the film on Jan 26th as per the plan.
which produced the third installment of the hit franchise, has decided to release the film next month to avoid negative impact on the box office collections.
Industry observers say that it may have to do with prevailing public anger against the police force which took on pro-jallikattu protesters.
Suriya had recently served People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PeTA) a legal notice for accusing him of using the jallikattu protests to gain publicity.
Suriya took part in the silent protest conducted by the state actor body to show solidarity with youth protests for bringing back jallikattu.
Though Suriya’s Singam 2 was heavily criticised for a mediocre plot, the film went on to become the second highest grossing film of that year.After getting lukewarm response from audience for Anjaan and Massu Engira Masilamani,
Suriya made a stunning comeback with his experimental fantasy thriller 24, which is touted as the third highest grossing Tamil film after Kabali and Theri.
Since the announcement of Singam 3, fans have Suriya have been patiently waiting to witness the actor’s persona on screen. However, the film is facing the wrath of not being able to hit the screens as per the schedule.
Singam 3 was initially planned for a release on December 23, as a Christmas gift to fans. Thanks to cyclone Vardah for its absolute carnage, the makers pushed the release to January 26. The release of the film is once again stalled due to massive state-wide protests organised by students over jallikattu.
