The Devil Baby of Hull House Chicago is a legend that dates back to the early 20th century. It is said that a woman gave birth to a baby with horns, hooves, and a tail, as a punishment for her husband’s blasphemy.
The baby was supposedly taken to Hull House, a settlement house for immigrants and the poor, where it haunted the residents and visitors. Many people claimed to have seen or heard the Devil Baby, but the founder of Hull House, Jane Addams, denied its existence and tried to explain the phenomenon as a result of superstition and hysteria. The story inspired several books, plays, and movies, and became part of the folklore of Chicago.
