Throughout my life, I’ve experienced numerous strange occurrences, and my family has shared chilling stories of their own encounters. One particular tale that has left an indelible mark on me involves my great aunt Lisa’s house—a residence that was once owned by my father before being sold to my aunt.
The eerie events began when my father, who was remarried at the time, and some friends decided to experiment with an Ouija board they found in the house. Drawing a pentagon on the board, they pricked their fingers with a knife, placing a drop of blood on the pointer’s eye. Despite not receiving verbal responses from the spirit world, they started witnessing peculiar incidents around the house.
One memorable incident occurred in the kitchen, where my father and others saw a cup fall off the counter. Expecting a loud crash, they were astonished to find the cup back on the counter without making a sound. Another time, while gathered in the living room, a baby rattle flew across the room, hitting the TV, seemingly on its own. These inexplicable occurrences were a regular part of life while my father resided in the house.
However, when my aunt moved in, the supernatural activity took a more ominous turn. During one night I spent at her house, my uncle Rick, who sometimes found it more comfortable to sleep on the couch due to back problems, woke me up with his screams. Rushing into the living room with my aunt, we were met with a chilling sight—a red mist hovered above my uncle, who was writhing in pain, claiming his chest was burning.
Within seconds of our arrival, the red mist dissipated. To our shock, my uncle’s cross necklace had burned into his chest, leaving a lasting scar that he still bears to this day. We even captured photographs of this paranormal event, adding another chapter to the mystique of my great aunt Lisa’s haunted house.
