“We see the military activity being scaled up from the US and their allies represented by the Republic of Korea and Japan in the sub-region from last year,” Georgy Zinovyev said.
According to Georgy Zinovyev, department director of the Russian Foreign Ministry, a new crisis in this region is approaching as a result of the recent military and political escalation around the Korean Peninsula, who spoke to TASS in an interview on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
The DPRK, the US, and their allies, represented by the Republic of Korea and Japan, are the key opposing parties. The dynamics of events on the Korean Peninsula show the approaching of a new crisis, with its clear sign being the escalation of the military and political tension and the buildup of belligerent rhetoric between these parties. Since last year, we have noticed an increase in military activities from the other side in the sub-region, the ambassador said.
