Prom Night 1980 Movie Review & Summary

Playing hide & seek in an abandoned convent with four other 11-year-olds in 1974, Wendy Richards, Jude Cunningham, Kelly Lynch, and Nick McBride
Group members tease 10-year-old Robin Hammond, repeating “Kill!” and resulting in a frightened Robin falling out the second-story window and suffocating.

Robin’s corpse is then shadowed by an unseen individual who saw her demise.
On the anniversary of Robin’s death in 1980, her family gathers to remember her.
During this time, Kim and Alex’s father (who happens to be the school principal) finds out that the sex offender who is suspected of killing Robin has escaped from a mental institution.
The assassin approaches and pursues Wendy through the school with an axe in hand.
When she finds Kelly’s corpse in a storage area, she cries and is hacked to death by the perpetrator.

After seeing Wendy murdered, Sykes tried to alert the school personnel, but they dismissed it as an incoherent rant by an inebriated employee.
But when Nick is about to be named prom king by Lou’s lackeys, Kim is getting ready to be named prom queen.
The murderer approaches Lou from behind, thinking he’s Nick, and cuts off his head.
Nick is freed by Kim.

The murderer confronts them as they prepare to flee, but he strikes Nick and not Kim.
Kim uses an axe to murder the assassin in the subsequent battle.
When the assailant falls to the ground, Alex emerges, telling Kim that he saw their sister’s murder and that Jude, Kelly, Wendy, and Nick were involved.
In his last moments, Kim holds him and he sobs Robin’s name.
Kim weeps when she learns of the loss of yet another family member.
