President Duterte Talks Trash To War Canada

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said on Tuesday he is ready to war with Canada during a situational briefing after earthquakes jolted some of the regions of the country.

We’ll declare war against them, kaya man natin ‘yan sila. (we can handle them[Canada]) Isaoli ko talaga. (i’ll sent it back[garbage]) Tignan mo. (Watch)  Ikarga mo ‘yan doon sa barko, load the containers to a ship, and I will advise Canada that your garbage is on the way. Prepare a grand reception. Eat it if you want to.

~ Duterte.

He threatens to go to war with Canada if their rubbish will not be shipped back that have been sitting in the local ports of the Philippines for over six years.

The shipments of household and electronic wastes were in question going back in 2013 and 2014 when a Canadian-based company Chronic Plastics shipped in batches a total of 103 containers filled with 2,450 tons of trashes.

The exported vans containing rubbish were declared by the company as plastic scrap materials without securing import entries. The importer is intercepted by the customs bureau and found out that the contents are not recyclable. Thus, sparked protests, especially from the environmental and public-health activists.

However, in the past Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau on his visit in the country has said that a “Canadian Solution” was in the works and promise to make legislative changes and urging to repatriate the wastes.

It was remembered that a South Korean company Verde Soko Philippines Industrial Corporation was also questioned for shipping illegal garbage to the Philippines disguises as “plastic synthetic flakes.”
