Pakistan Holds 75 Indian Defence Personnel: It is common to a country to take prisoners from war. But with Pakistan, it is increased from day to day and now they have 75 Indian Defence Personnel in their custody. Out of the 75 Indian Defence Personnel, 54 of them are the prisoners from War of whom the government had no information. These are just the numbers we know.
Today in Parliament, the external affairs minister V K Singh claimed that both Pakistan and Sri Lanka has Indian fishermen while Pakistan in addition has the Indian Defence Personnel. The only thing which everyone are anxious to know is, how many fishermen are there with Pakistan while we have the number of Defence Personnel with the country. Pakistan have never gave a confirmation about the arrested personnel.
Pakistan Holds 75 Indian Defence Personnel in Custody:
According to Government of India and the reports produced in Lok Sabha, The government has said that there are 75 missing Indian defence personnel including 54 prisoners of war who are in the custody of Pakistan. Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh Said that, presence of these missing Indians has not been acknowledged so far by Pakistan. The number is yet to be confirmed.
On July 27th, V K Singh said that there are 417 fishermen in Pakistan’s custody and 15 fishermen in Sri Lanka’s custody, who are believed to be Indian nationals. “In case of Pakistan, consular access is awaited and information about the states that they belong to is not available. In case of Sri Lanka, the 15 fishermen are believed to be from Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Puducherry,” Singh said.
He also added that, the government regularly takes up with Sri Lanka and Pakistan the matter of early release and repatriation of Indian fishermen and fishing boats.
