Oil exports from the United States in the week ended Jan. 6 nearly halved from the previous week — 2.137 million barrels per day, according to a weekly review by the country’s Energy Ministry’s Energy Information Division.
Thus, the weekly drop in the index was the highest since 2021, in the week to May 7, oil exports from the country fell from 4.1 million barrels per day to 1.8 million barrels per day.
US oil imports for the week ended January 6, by contrast, rose 0.64 million barrels per day to 6.35 million barrels per day. The index was at its highest level since September last year.
Export of oil and oil products from the country fell by 1.814 million barrels per day in the previous week – to 8.74 million barrels per day. Imports of oil and petroleum products to the United States increased by 0.5 million barrels per day – to 7.988 million barrels per day.
