Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle inexplicably veer off a London roadway and strike a wall head-on one night in 1934, soon after midnight. The driver was killed when the Vehicle caught on fire.
Witnesses were perplexed as to why this automobile did this during a subsequent inquest. They claimed that although they were unsure of what the motorist looked to be trying to avoid striking,
Others who were there as witnesses offered a strange justification. Additionally, they witnessed the automobile go off the road immediately after the junction, but they also understood why.
They asserted to have witnessed a red double-decker bus bearing the number “7” on its side barreling directly for the automobile before the vehicle veered into the structure. They said that when the bus drove farther down the road, it suddenly and magically vanished.
In addition to the mysterious disappearance of this vehicle, it was remarkable that witnesses observed it at this hour because London buses don’t run this late. Additionally, it was noted that in 1934, no buses in the city had a single 7 on their side.
Following this first sighting, several witnesses came forward to report seeing this bus at the same junction over the following 56 years.
Around 1:15 in the morning, a red double-decker was observed causing traffic collisions. It was frequently observed moving quickly toward the intersection in the centre of the road.
In addition to the term “General,” which is the name of a bus line that ceased operation in 1933, the year before the first accident, witnesses claimed to have seen the number 7 on its side.
All of the witnesses claimed to have seen Vehicles swerving frantically to avoid being struck by this enigmatic bus. They said that when vehicles swerved out of the path, they frequently narrowly avoided hitting the sides of buildings or lampposts.
These collisions resulted in minor injuries to many drivers.
The majority of these reports said that although there were no passengers on the bus, the interior lights were flashing brightly on both decks. Even worse, the drivers of the vehicles that had to escape colliding with this bus said that as the out-of-control bus passed, it suddenly vanished.
This ghost bus’s latest sighting was reported in 1990. The decision to straighten the dangerous curve that approached this crossroads was taken in the same year. Since then, no more strange sightings have been recorded.
