Today is the end of a two-and-a-half week celebration called World Origami Week (October 24 – November 11)! October 24 is the birthday of Lillian Oppenheimer, who founded the first origami group in the U.S., and November 11 is Origami Day in Japan, where the paper crane has become a symbol of peace.
Today is Remembrance or Veterans’ or Armistice Day in many nations, celebrating the outbreak of peace after World War I, so what could be more perfect than folding a lot origami cranes?
Check out these origami creations!
