n…Well, today is National Authors Day! Not just science fiction, or children’s lit, or even fiction – today we celebrate authors and writers of all sorts.

nWe can use the excuse to do some reading-for-pleasure…
n

n
nWe can share in person or on social media our favorite authors (many of whom are likely gone for years, decades, maybe even centuries!)…
n
n
n
n
n
nWe can also write to our favorite living authors, telling them the impact their writing has had on us; we can even make a plan to meet an author at a book-signing or other event…

| As a teen, I wrote a list of personal heroes, all of whom were writers: educator John Holt, scientist Isaac Asimov, and astronomer Carl Sagan. All three are now gone, but I got to meet Holt several times, and I at least met Asimov’s daughter and a woman who helped inspire Sagan’s novel.
