A plane crash near Pokhara, Nepal on Sunday has left a great tragedy. As time goes by, the number of deaths in accidents is gradually increasing.
There were 72 passengers at the time of the accident, but none of them survived. The hope that someone will survive is turning into despair. So far, the authorities have recovered 68 dead bodies from the accident site.
It is known that the ATR-72 aircraft of AT Airlines met with an accident on Sunday. The plane that took off from Kathmandu crashed near the Pokhara International Airport. It is more painful that this accident happened while landing at the airport in a few moments. A total of 72 people including passengers and crew were on board at the time of the accident. Among them 68 passengers died.
Army officials recovered 68 dead bodies from the plane wreckage. However, army personnel say that the area where the incident took place is a dangerous area, which hampered the rescue operations. It was revealed that the rescue operations were interrupted due to darkness on Sunday night as well, and the search operation will be started again from Monday morning. Nepal Army spokesman Krishna Prasad Bhandari said no survivors had been identified.
District officials said that the bodies of the deceased have been recovered and shifted to Gandaki Hospital for post-mortem. Many of the bodies were said to be badly burnt and beyond recognition. 15 foreigners were among the passengers. Among them five Indians, four Russians, two South Koreans, one Australian, one French, one Argentine and one Irish.
