Apple has made some interesting new announcements at its most-awaited event. It seems that the small size is the new big for Apple.
When it comes to the iPhone, Apple has reintroduced the small screen model. We are talking about the new iPhone SE, which features a 4-inch screen. As for its hardware, this is a mixture between the iPhone 6 and 6S. However, besides the new phone, Apple also introduced new bands for the Apple Watch and a new, but smaller iPad Pro.
So, when talking about the new iPhone SE, it is important to mention that the device comes with a 4-inch screen and the company said that it is a mix of iPhone 6S parts and iPhone 5 style. This new device comes with an A9 processor and the rear camera found on last year’s iPhone 6S, 12-megapixel.
However, at first sight, this new iPhone looks very similar to the previous smaller generation. Why did Apple release a phone so small? Well, the company has declared that some people “simply love smaller phones.”
With this new release, the company encourages iPhone 5S users to upgrade to this new phone that also has faster Wi-Fi and LTE speeds, support for Apple Pay with NFC and better battery life. As for the price, the new iPhone SE comes at 399 dollars for a 16GB model and 499 dollars for a bigger 64GB version. To be added that pre-orders will start this Thursday and it will hit the shelves on March 31st.
Apple also announced a new 9.7 iPad Pro tablet. It seems that the company has opted for a smaller version of the famous 12.9-inch iPad Pro. However, this new tablet also comes with Apple Pencil stylus support and the same four speakers. The new iPad Pro weighs under one pound and comes with a smaller version of the original Pro’s keyboard case.
Moreover, users will be able to choose the tablet from a variety of colors, like rose gold, space grey, gold and silver. The new 9.7-inch tablet will be available at the price of 749 dollars for 128GB version and 899 dollars for 256GB model. The iPad Pro will be available in sale starting with March 24th and will begin shipping on the 31st of March.
The traditional Apple Watch also received some interesting new upgrades. Even if there is still no sign for the new Apple Watch, the old one has received some new design changes. Tim Cook also declared that Apple Watch will now be cheaper, starting at 299 dollars instead of 349 dollars. Apple’s CEO also said that the Apple Watch will have a “spring lineup” of new bands, including new colors for its leather and sport bands.
Let’s not forget the fact that Apple also included Siri on the Apple TV. This means that all users that will download the latest version of Apple’s TV software, tvOS 9.2, will be able to ask Siri to search for a favorite TV show or specific movie. Moreover, users will have to option to introduce a password with just their voice.
