Mitchell Marsh stays with Scorchers in BBL|07

Perth Scorchers received huge boost over the top when Mitchell Marsh decided to continue his association with the club for the seventh edition of the Big Bash League.

The 25-year-old, who was recently appointed Western Australia’s new captain, is currently underwent a reconstruction of his right shoulder, but is set to return on the ground for the upcoming season of KFC Big Bash League, starting December 20.

“I literally cannot wait for Big Bash to start,” the all-rounder told perthscorchers.com.au on Sunday (September 17). “My body and shoulder feel really good, I’ve been taking it slowly but ticking all the right boxes so it’ll be good to get back out there.

“The BBL has grown into an amazing tournament. Playing with the Scorchers for the last six years, we’ve had some awesome success and we’re hoping we can maintain that winning culture this summer, too.”

The Australia international, who made his Test debut against Pakistan in 2014, and has since gone on to make 21 Tests for his country, averaging 21.74 with the bat and 37.48 with the ball.

Marsh is expected to make a return as batsman in the early part of the domestic season.
