Matt Lucas has bid farewell to the Great British Bake Off tent and announced that he will no longer serve as the program’s host.

Although the 48-year-old actor described working on the three episodes as “a great experience,” he felt that it would take too much time away from other projects to watch Bakes.

The former “Little Britain” actor tweeted, “I am pleased to pass the baguette to someone else.”A host switch has not been made public by Channel 4. Lucas claims that a decision was made after weighing the demands of various projects, including Bake Off and the fantasy football comedy league Sky Max.

My greatest thanks and admiration go to Noilipops, Paul, Dame Prue, the staff, and the amazing bakers, as well as to everyone at Love Productions and Channel 4 for hosting me in the tent. “I can’t wait to watch the next episode to find out who wins, and I want to see who wins it all!” “I miss your smile, laughter, and ignorance, ” Fielding, who shared the stage with Lucas, remarked. I miss the times when we wrote in that room with the absurdly high ceilings and giggled like naughty children whenever Paul pronounced “egg” in his thick Scouse accent.

You make working with you so enjoyable, and you are so considerate of the bakers.Enjoy your upcoming adventure.

Hollywood, one of the judges for the competition, wished Lucas luck, while Dame Prue praised Lucas for “bringing so much fun and enjoyment to the tent.”The show’s producer, Love Productions, expressed gratitude to Lucasfilm for creating it, noting that it “took a lot of sacrifice and a lot of humour,” including during COVID.

The show’s creators remarked, “We consider Matt to be a member of the Bake Off family and are incredibly thankful to him for looking after so many bakers alongside Noel. “Lucas “brought warmth, wit, and delightful goofiness to Dera and delivered some of the most memorable moments in the current series,” said Jan Katz, director of content for Channel 4.The first season of Bake Off debuted in 2010 and was moved from the BBC to Channel 4 in 2017.

Last month, the show’s 13th episode came to an end, and according to overnight ratings, 5.2 million people watched the conclusion.
