Mark Epstein, brother of Jeffrey Epstein, demands a thorough investigation into the financier’s death, rejecting the suicide ruling. Controversy surrounds the circumstances, fuelling suspicions.
Mark Epstein Urges Full Investigation into Brother Jeffrey’s Death Amid Persistent Doubts
New York: Mark Epstein, the brother of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, is calling for a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding his brother’s death, rejecting the official verdict of suicide. Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in a high-security New York jail on August 10, 2019, while awaiting trial on charges of trafficking underage girls.
Despite a justice department report concluding that Epstein’s death was a suicide, Mark Epstein remains steadfast in his belief that foul play was involved. He contends that a thorough examination of the evidence, including the autopsy and photographs of Epstein’s body, contradicts the suicide narrative presented by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
“I would like a full investigation of his death. If you look at all the evidence, including the autopsy, the photographs of his body, and the DOJ report that is filled with inaccuracies, you would never come up with the conclusion that this was a suicide – but based on what? The question is, who had him killed?” he told The Guardian.
Mark Epstein raises concerns about the security on the night of Jeffrey’s death, stating that not all the cell doors on his brother’s floor were locked. He speculates that another inmate could have entered Epstein’s cell, suggesting the possibility of murder. He highlights the absence of surveillance footage, noting that the camera pointing at Epstein’s cell door failed to record that night.
In 2019, a forensic pathologist hired by Mark Epstein, Michael Baden, challenged the official determination of suicide by hanging. Baden argued that Epstein’s injuries, particularly the multiple fractures in the neck, were “more indicative of homicidal strangulation” and deemed them “very unusual for suicide.”
Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy hedge fund manager with connections to high-profile individuals, died under circumstances that fueled various conspiracy theories. Allegations ranged from claims that he possessed damaging information about influential figures to suspicions of an orchestrated murder.
Following his death, numerous women came forward, accusing Epstein of sexual abuse, leading to legal actions against his estate. Recently unsealed court documents associated with the sex trafficking scandal linked several prominent figures, including former US presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, physicist Stephen Hawking, and pop star Michael Jackson, reigniting public interest and scrutiny. The controversy surrounding Epstein’s demise persists, urging Mark Epstein to seek a transparent inquiry into what he believes to be a complex and unresolved case.
