Man attacked by five in Limassol taverna,
Police are investigating a case of attempted murder after a 48-year-old man was attacked and knifed by five people in a Limassol taverna late last night. One person has already been arrested in connection with the attack.
According to police five people entered a taverna located on Misiaouli and Kavazoglou street shortly after midnight and began hitting a 48-year-old with clubs and glass bottles. One of the attackers stabbed him in the chest with a pocketknife.
The attackers left the scene in a vehicle while the injured person was taken to the Limassol general hospital.
His condition is considered serious but not life threatening.
This morning police arrested a 43-year-old man for questioning while police spokesman Stelios Stylianou said that the search for the other four suspects is continuing.
