Two popular mac and cheese products are being recalled in five states. Reser’s Fine Foods announced the recall for its standard and white cheddar mac and cheese. The issue arose when a refrigeration unit on a trailer failed, leading to possible spoilage.
The affected states are California, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. This recall is classified as a Class II by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This means the products might cause temporary health issues, but serious risks are unlikely.
In addition to mac and cheese, other items are also part of the recall. These include potato salads, scalloped potatoes, pasta salads, corn, egg salads, gravy, spinach dip, and desserts.
A Reser’s spokesperson assured Fox Business that this was an “isolated” incident. They confirmed that the recall started on July 29, 2024, and no affected products reached store shelves. Any items purchased from stores are safe to eat.
