Liverpool coach Jurgne Klopp has revealed he was and still in contact with all his top players who represented their nations in continental tournaments.
The likes of Alisson Becker and Roberto Firmino both represented Brazil and lifted the Copa America trophy while Mohamed Salah struggled to make an impact with Egypt.
Sadio Mane meanwhile will part of the Senegalese team that will face Algeria in the AFCON final which is already creating headache for Jurgen Klopp.
Mane inclusion means his 2018/19 season is yet to finish and he will need more time to recuperate than the normal 3 weeks break.
“It’s a 13-month season”, Klopp told the press when asked about Sadio Mane’s return.
“I don’t want to sound like a moaner, but this is an obvious thing. We need to see how we deal with it. The Brazilians finished the season on an absolute high winning two trophies, for Mo it was slightly different but i’m constantly in contact with him and all three of them are fine”.
Focusing on Sadio Mane who will certainly miss the Community Shield against Manchester City in 16 days, Klopp added:
“Sadio’s case is special because his tournament has been so long and tomorrow it’s 16 days until we play Manchester City. I will talk to him immediately after his game and we will find a solution for that.
“We have important games to come and we know pretty much which players are available, hopefully, we can go through this period without any injuries and let’s prepare the group we have around for the first couple of games, then Sadio should be in as well and fresh enough to go again”.
Sadio Mane will miss the Community Shield as well as the opening match of the season against Norwich City.
