Women Career and Education
Women often criticize men high confidence as a boldness or even arrogancy. Oh the other side, either we realize it or not, women often put themselves in a low state of confidence although they have obtained some high achievements. According to Gail Evans, author of “Play Like A Man, Win Like A Woman,” it seems like there is something that always tells men “you can do it!” While something else says to women, “be careful you can be hurt.”
There are many things that we can actually learn from men, including their trademark’s self confidence.
Stop Doubting Yourself
Just because you never did that thing before, does not mean that you can not do it now. Alpha males always think that they can tackle any obstacles and face any challenges. That is why, many males get promotion based on opportunities, while women get that by their performances.
Do Not Blame Ourselves
Do you know, or have experiences, that men seldom blame themselves for one or two failures in the past, while women tend to admonish themselves over one failure? Remember that it is like basketball; if you fail in one shoot, you can not spend much time regretting over that failed shoot, or you will miss the next chance. So next time, if you feel that you have done a mistake, take a deep breath and prepare for the nect chance to make up for it.
Do Not Take Rejection Too Seriously
Barbara Abernathy, author of “Venus on Top: Women Who Are Born to Lead and The Men Who Love Them,” said that her ex male colleagues in a sales company, where she had worked for some time, took each rejection casually. Moreover, if you are used to face rejection, you will become less ‘sensitive’ about it, and become easier to focus on the next challenge.
Take Your Right!
Many women are afraid to ask for a raise or take a leave for several days just to take a rest, while many men will not be hesitate to do that. If you think that you are competent enough to get a raise or chances to take a leave, bring out your ‘inner men’ and stand up for your right!
