Jurgen Klopp has admitted he learnt something new from Manchester City who changed their attacking style to catch Liverpool unawares.
City ditched the tiki-taka or 1-2 touch style of play and played long ball in in behind, which disrupted Liverpool’s back line knowing they were playing a high line.
Twice City were clear on goal but still failed to score, giving Jurgen Klopp plenty to ponder on.
Asked what he learnt from Liverpool’s {5-4 penalty} defeat to Manchester City in the Community Shield, Klopp said:
“They played quite a high number of long balls in behind, which were difficult to defend, but if you have a goalie who can kick it that long, why not do it?” Klopp told Sky Sports.
“It gives us a question to answer for the next game”.
Liverpool will play Norwich City next in the opening match of the season on Friday.
