Jurgen Klopp finally speaks about Mignolet’s future and PSG links

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp is overly confident his number two goalkeeper Simon Mignolet will remain at the club.

Mignolet 31, wants to leave Liverpool this summer knowing he will play little or no football next season. Liverpool’s main priority this season is to win the Premier League title and retain the Champions League trophy.

Meaning Mignolet will only feature in the FA Cup and the Caraboa Cup which Liverpool don’t necessarily have to win while Alisson Becker plays more important matches.

But in-spite of that, Klopp still wants him in the team to provide cover for Alisson in case of injury or fatigue.

Asked if Mignolet will stay in the team, Klopp replied;
“Yes! I’ve heard he wills tay. We had a lot of conversations in the last couple of years, months”, Klopp told LFC TV.

“Before we left for summer we had a talk, i would say yes, he will stay. At a club like Liverpool you need two ‘No.1s’, at least, at the club.

“And we have that, it’s cool, with Ally and Simon. That’s a very good situation for the club, a situation i think you should have, and that’s why everything is fine from my point of view”.
Mignolet joined Liverpool from Sunderland back in 2014 and has gone to make 155 appearances for the club. He still has two years remaining on his contract.
