June 18: What Happened Today In History

Happy Birthday, Paul McCartney
n
nBorn on this day in 1942, this British lad grew up to be one of the most famous musicians of all times, an essential part of perhaps THE most famous rock band of all times, the Beatles.

nThe Guinness Book of World Records states that McCartney is the most successful songwriter in the history of popular music. Wikipedia includes in his accomplishments, along with being a singer/songwriter for the Beatles, Wings, and solo efforts, “composer, multi-instrumentalist, entrepreneur, record and film producer, poet, painter, and animal rights activist.” He is one of Britain’s wealthiest citizens, and he has been knighted, so that’s Sir Paul McCartney to you and me, thank you very much.

nI am busy making every day special by taking a trip through California, Oregon, and Washington.

The daily posts will be minimal during my trip. Happy summer to everyone in the Northern Hemisphere!
