nOnly four feet five inches tall, Dinklage has the medical condition called achondroplasia, or dwarfism. Most people with this condition prefer to be called little people.

nDinklage found it hard to break into show biz, at first, because he refused to take clichéd little-people roles as an elf or leprechaun. He has pointed out that many roles for little people are played for laughs or are the magical-person-full-of-wisdom trope. They don’t have romantic feelings or normal human-being problems or even flaws! By holding out for more complex roles, Dinklage managed to build an amazing career.
