Liverpool legend John Barnes feels Wilfried Zaha will not get into Premier League team due to his tendency to dribble a lot rather than pass the ball quickly to the next opponent.
At Crystal Palace, Zaha is allowed to occupy any position he wants provided it helps the team win. His main strength remains his ability to beat one or two defenders with breathtaking pace and shoot or provide an incisive pass that leads to a goal.
A team like Liverpool or Manchester City already have star players they look up to and will require him to pass the ball quickly and run tirelessly to recover the ball which is not his strength.
Explaining why Liverpool or Manchester City won’t sign Wilfried Zaha, John Barnes:
“I don’t feel Zaha fits into any team, i think he’s a bit of a maverick. He does what he does and plays by himself, not in a team”, Barnes told Bonuscodesbets.
“He likes to dribble around five defenders. Therefore, he can’t go to Manchester City and Liverpool; he can’t go wandering all over the field. He plays whatever position he wants for Crystal Place, and picks up the ball on the right and the left-that’s not fitting into a team.
“He’s got great ability and that’s why i think Crystal Palace suit him down to the ground because they allow him to do that, he won’t be allowed to at another club. I don’t think a player of his ilk should be looking to be a Plan B player to come off the bench”.
Wilfried Zaha is currently training alone as he tries to force his move to Arsenal or any Champions League playing club.
