Joao Cancelo warns Walker: I didn't join Manchester City to sit on the bench

Manchester City’s £60m buy Joao Cancelo has sent a note of warming to Kyle Walker to get ready to be replaced in the first team.
Walker still remains a fan favourite and his goal line clearances against Liverpool proved why he is elite in football. But Pep Guardiola wants more competition and feels the signing of Joao Cancelo will be the wake up call Walker needs to keep improving.
Cancelo is optimistic of displacing Walker and had this to say:
“I’m aware how Kyle is one of the best full backs. But i always love challenges, bring myself to the limit”, he said during his unveiling.
“I’m going to compete with him and i’ll try to get my place. It will be up to the manager to choose one or the other but i promise i will try to work hard and compete as best as i can. As a player i like a new challenges, i was aware of the competition i would find here.
“Walker is a great player but the more competition you have the better you become as a player. I have a dream to be the best right back, in my position and only way to do that is by challenging yourself. Only playing with the best can you do that”.
Cancelo is a right back by trade but his versatility enables him to play in the right and left back positions, wing backs and occasionally as a right central midfielder.
