Science Gnus has a morencolorful list that includes ”oyster pirate, deep-sea sailor, hobo,nAlaskan prospector.” And of course, author; London wrote ThenCall of the Wild, The Sea Wolf, and White Fang,namong other works.

nBothnof these lists left off a few jobs that London took on. He worked inna jute mill and a street-railway power plant. He was in prison for 30ndays for “vagrancy” (vagrancy means being homeless andnjobless—yes, it was against the law!), and let us not forget thatnwhen he was 13 years old, London worked 12 to 18 hours A DAY in ancannery! All of that hard work, all of that travel and adventure,nmade him the author that he was.
