It seems that the fully wireless headphone market is getting bigger and bigger. These days, we are talking about the new Jabra Elite Sport.
Key Points
Apple has been the first company that started this fully wireless headphone mania, thanks to its new AirPods.
But, we must say that this concept isn’t new, because other brands have been working hard to release one of these new models.
Jabra has also entered this market with its new Sport Elite model. The company took several elements that have served Jabra’s other wireless headphones, which means that the new Sport Elite is capable to handle the rigors of a good workout while playing music and tracking activity.

With these great features, we must say that the new Jabra Elite Sport is perfect for athletes and other people enjoying workouts.
The new Jabra Elite Sport is coming packed like many other Jabra devices in this category. The two earbuds are nestled inside the box, with a small charging case situated just below.
Nearby, customers will find a selection of accessories, like three sets of ear wings, three sets of ear gels, and three sets of foam tips.
The ear wings are coming in different sizes: small, medium and large. To be added that there is also a short micro-USB cable for the portable charging case included in the box.
As for paperwork, we must say that there is a quick start guide included in the box, alongside warranty information and a yellow sheet with a code for people to install the free Jabra Sport Life app for Android and iOS.
Jabra Elite Sport Extra Features:
- Built-in heart rate monitor
- Superior Sound – now with passive noise cancellation and enhanced bass
- Automatic VO2 Max tracking
Moving to the design, customers should know that the new model is similar with the company’s Sport Pulse Special Edition in-ears. Both models feature a heart rate sensor placed in the left earpiece, and similar specs.
The only huge difference is that the new Jabra Elite Sport is completely cord-free. On the other side, the previous Jabra Sport Pulse Special Edition had a cable connecting the two earbuds together. But, building a truly wireless headphone also comes with some compromises.
For example, in order to squeeze everything into the earpiece, customers should know that this new model has a bulkier form factor.
Part of the reason for this is to migrate volume controls and playback from the inline remote attached to the cable into the buds themselves.
To be added that Jabra managed to make these earbuds waterproof with an IP67 rating.
This means that people will be able to submerge them for 30 minutes in 3.3 feet of water. This is a great feature because customers can take the new Jabra Elite Sport to the pool.
The left earbud homes the volume up and down buttons on the outer shell. But, if users will hold the volume up it skips to the next track, and holding the volume down will get back one.
Moreover, on the right earbud, the top button is an action button that works with the company’s app. The button one answer/ends phone calls and plays/pauses audio. If people will hold it for two seconds, they will activate Google Now or Siri.
