Israel raises the state of alert on the northern border

Hebrew media: The Israeli army shot down a drone coming from Syrian territory, using electronic warfare.

Today, Monday, Israel raised the security and military alert on the northern borders, both the Syrian and the Lebanese, following the downing of a march, believed to be Iranian, over the Houla area, north of Tiberias in the Galilee.

The Israeli army collected the wreckage of the march at night and explained that it was under constant tracking by two fighter jets and a military helicopter.

This morning, Israel revealed the method it used to shoot down a drone that it said had penetrated its airspace, coming from Syrian territory, last night.

The drone, which fell in an open area north of the Sea of Galilee, was not shot down by a missile launched from an aircraft or by anti-aircraft fire but by “soft means,” according to the Hebrew newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth.

The newspaper revealed that the Israeli army shot down the drone using electronic warfare.She explained that: “In electronic warfare, remote signals are sent that disrupt the movement of the aircraft and cause it to be shot down.”

According to the newspaper, over the past two years, Israel has used the same method to shoot down drones on the borders of Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

And the Israeli army had suggested earlier that “the drone that entered Israeli airspace was Iranian-made.
