Imagining how people in our time might respond to seeing dragons in the flesh was one of the most fascinating aspects of creating the Scorched trilogy. How would they respond? What are the chances of it happening? Would they be terrified, enthralled, or a mix of the two? Won’t they be debating whether or not they are genuine on TV news? Would the government intervene and attempt to bring them down, or would they exploit them for their own advantage and hide it in an X-Files-style conspiracy?
Moreover, would people post their dragon sightings on YouTube? No, I don’t think they would.
