HP’s Envy line is one of the most successful lines that this company has built. At its introduction on the market, HP has managed to give Apple serious competition. Unfortunately, due to brand expansion and cost-cutting, the Envy name was lost.
Recently, the company has made huge effort to get this line back on track. HP has gradually improved the quality of Envy across the board. In July, the company has unveiled the HP Spectre, offering a new and refreshing design and some serious hardware.
The laptop had huge success on the market, and now, the company has decided to keep the pedal of progress firmly pressed with a major update of its entire product line.
So, the company has first updated its Spectre x360. This update comes to one of the company’s oldest Envy systems. As we know, the x360 is a 2-in-1 device with a folding hinge. The new model is significantly smaller, measuring 13.8mm thick and weighing 2.85 pounds.
Some big changes have also come to the battery. We must say that the battery is now a massive 57.8 watt-hour unit.
The company claims that this battery will go up to 15 hours of use. Other interesting updates are the edge-to-edge keyboard, a wider glass touchpad, two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, PCI Express solid state drive with capacity of up to 1TB and 7th-generation Intel Core processors.

First move is that the company has decided to put the entire hardware inside the base rather than behind the PC. With this interesting move, the display is thinner, featuring bezels that are only 9.5 millimeters wide on the sides and top.
The resolution is 2,560 x 1,440 and the company claims that the display can render 99 percent of the sRGB gamut. The front-facing speakers are also very powerful, being designed in partnership with Bang & Olufsen.
The system is powered by a Core i7-6700T processor, accompanied by 16GB of memory, a GeForce GTX 950M graphics with 4GB of GDDR5 memory, a 1TB SATA hard disk and a 128GB PCI Express solid state drive. As for connectivity, it includes four USB 3.0, HDMI out/in and one USB 3.1.
The company has also updated Envy 13. This laptop has received some serious updates under the hood. We will start with the battery because battery life is the most important thing on a laptop. So, the new Envy 13 has the same 57.8 watt-hour battery that is also found in the x360. This means that the battery life, together with the 1080 display will go up to 14 hours of use.
As a reminder, its predecessor promised only 10 hours. Furthermore, the laptop has been updated to the latest 7th-generation Intel Core processor, accompanied by 16GB of RAM, and PCI Express solid state drive up to 1TB.
There is only one USB 3.1 Type-C port, but it also has two regular 3.0 ports. The new Envy 13 is available at the price of 849 dollars.
