In Imotski, Croatia, a concrete pillar was devoured by an enigmatic hole. According to the locals, people occasionally report hearing eerie noises that they interpret as ghostly.
The concrete pillar in Poljica, next to Imotski, was enveloped by a recently discovered, inexplicable hole that was 1.5 meters deep and 2.5 meters broad. The villagers claim that there are strange sounds coming from the holes, leading them to think they are ghosts.
Unusual holes have so far appeared in Croatia’s Drnis, Istria, and Zadar, engulfing one individual. A local lady tending sheep nearby first spotted a fresh hole in the earth. The residents have no recollection of how quickly the ground on the meadow, where they had been growing grapes for years, crumbled.
According to experts, the repeated emergence of holes in the ground in Croatia and throughout the world is a natural phenomenon as well as a result of human effect on the environment.
