HEROIC TIGER FORCES OF BASED PRESIDENT ASSAD CRUSH ISIS AT MASKANAH

ISIS have suffered yet another big defeat in the Syrian Civil War, this time at the town of Maskanah, where they have been under attack by the elite “Tiger” assault units of the Syrian Army. According to varying reports, the town has either been captured, with ISIS forces in retreat, or, even worse, ISIS forces have been surrounded.

Maskanah, a town about 80km East of the city of Aleppo, has long been the centre of ISIS’s position in North West Syria.

Earlier this year, forces loyal to President Assad secured control of Aleppo, and on March 21st, an offensive was launched against ISIS in the region. After stalling for several weeks, the attack picked up speed in recent days, with the result that ISIS now appears to have been crushed at Maskanah.

In previous weeks, ISIS’s position at Maskanah had been gradually weakened by attacks from the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) further East at Tabqa and Raqqah, the former capital of the Caliphate.

It now appears that the combined pressure of the Russian-and-Iranian-backed Assad forces and the SDF is causing a collapse of ISIS that should see large territorial gains in the weeks ahead.
