In Bullitt County, a family living in an antebellum home was disturbed by strange occurrences. While enjoying dinner, they heard noises coming from the top of the stairs. Initially, they dismissed it as creaking floorboards, but the sounds intensified, resembling the dragging of a heavy object.
Intrigued and slightly alarmed, the family investigated the source of the noise. The sounds led them to the smokehouse in the backyard, where they discovered a chilling revelation. Historical records revealed that the house had once been a hub for illegal gambling during the antebellum period. A violent altercation had occurred, resulting in the murder of one of the gamblers. The victim’s body was believed to have been hidden in the smokehouse.
The family’s encounters didn’t end there. One night, a woman awoke to find three spectral figures dressed in gaudy antebellum attire standing at the foot of her bed. Their eerie laughter and subsequent disappearance sent chills down her spine.
