Handling Difficult Questions in Interview

Job interview is always tense and difficult, but there are some questions specifically given to make you feel more difficulties. These are the questions that, usually, make us nervous, stuttered, or do not know what to say. Interviewers usually give these difficult questions to test your performance under pressure, like how well you could handle sensitive questions related to your salary preference or job history.

Here are the most common difficult questions in interview.

Could You Tell A Little Bit About Yourself ?

This sounds easy, but actually people tend to stray out from the actual meaning of question and more focused to personal stories. Unless you were being asked to tell about your personal background such as marriage, just stick to the things related to the job you’d like to apply.

Why Do You Apply To This Company ?

Do not answer “because of the salary” or “to find new experience,” since those answers will make the interviewer questioning your loyalty. Better to say honestly that you need this job, but also explain why you are interested in the company.

What Do You Feel Has Been Your Greatest Accomplishment ?

Point out something significant from your previous company or school. If there is not much to tell, tell the interviewer about your competencies, that you think would be great benefits for your new company.

What Is Your Greatest Strength ?

Point out three or four, not just one, and tell the truth.

What Is Your Weakness ?

Do not give short, standard answers like “I am perfectionist” and such, but take it from your past experience and how did you manage to handle them. Tell the truth, but make sure that the weakness is not fatal.

Why Did You Leave Your Previous Company ?

If it is possible, do not share the negative aspects of your previous company. Find answers that sounds fairly neutral for both, like “I had decided to share my skill and knowledge at the brand new field.” Do not forget to focus on what do you want to achieve from the new company.
