Well, that’s what this guy did.
His very public antics not only failed spectacularly, but they also earned him a few slaps across the face.
His now-ex-girlfriend was mortified beyond all imagination.
The short clip, captured in the streets of Huai’an City, in East China’s Jiangsu Province, shows the scenes unfolding in a popular shopping district, where countless pedestrians bore witness to the shocking scenes.
Reports said the boyfriend was driven to desperation as his girlfriend decided to break up with him one day, making him resort to a last-ditch bid to win her back.
He got on his hands and knees and begged for her not to leave him, even holding onto her legs as she turned to walk away. As the girl, who was undoubtedly looking for a quick end to events, could be heard saying ‘let me go’ a number of times, the boyfriend clung onto her legs with such force that he ended up pulling down her black stockings and pulling off her shoes in the process.
He begged, ‘Please don’t leave me’, but his determined girlfriend shouted, ‘Let me go. This is so embarrassing.’
She later adds, ‘We can’t be together anymore; it’s impossible.’
The video ends with the man still sprawled on the pavement as he refuses to let go of his girlfriend, making for one of the funniest and most embarrassing breakups netizens have witnessed in a long time.
Reports did not say when or how the girlfriend managed to escape the embarrassing scene.
Let’s hope, for both of their sakes, that it’s ended.
