The Las Vegas 22’nd edition of DICE Awards just finished and the game God of War was the absolute winner. God of War, a game title exclusive to PS4 received 9 awards including the most prestigious award of Game of The Year in 2018.
Beside this award God of War won in other categories like game design, story, sounds and music, artistic design, and even the award for the best adventure game of the year 2018.
God of War was not the only game that received many awards though, Celeste was nominated for best action game of the year and receiving the award of excellence for an independent game. Florence was the best portable game of the year, Super Smash Bros Ultimate received parses for best fighting game of the year. Monster Hunter: World won the best RPG title of the year, while Fortnite received the award for the best online game.
Even though Red Dead Redemtion 2 had a record in sales, it managed to win only one award at DICE Awards, the award for technical excellence. During the ceremonies, Bonnie Ross was included in the “Hall of Fame” Category at the Interactive Arts and Science Academy. Head of the 343 Industries Studio, the studio in charge of the new Halo game, Ross was praised for her work in raising the Halo franchise and for her efforts to promote diversity in video games.
