Georginio Wijnaldum has called on his club teammates to step up their performances quickly if they’re to have any chance of beating Manchester City to the Community Shield.
City are already ready to start the season, the boys are firing at all cylinders and those returning are training like they never went on holiday.
Wijnaldum knows the task ahead of Liverpool but prefers to believe in his teammates who proved last season they can crawl back from whatever scoreline and win.
“That’s what we have to do. It’s all about making minutes as much as possible, but also to get the results”, Wijnaldum told LFC official site.
“The season starts {on Sunday} so the result and the performance, it’s important for us to get confidence and to keep on going.
“This is painful {losing two games and drawing one} but we have to learn from it and we have to strike back”
Wijnaldum will be in contention to start and he will be hoping to score and assist a goal for Liverpool.
