Freddie Flintoff: injured in Top Gear accident

While filming for the BBC show, Top Gear host Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff was harmed in an accident.

Before being sent to the hospital for additional treatment, he got medical attention on the scene.

The incident took place at the Surrey test facility for Top Gear, Dunsfold Park Aerodrome.

He is not believed to be in danger of dying from his wounds, and a BBC representative said more information would be released “in due time.”

It is acknowledged that the collision did not occur at a high speed.

In September 2019, the former England cricketer experienced a fright while shooting a Top Gear drag race.

At Elvington Airfield near York, he was operating a three-wheeled motorised tricycle when he ran out of runway; he was unhurt in the event.

2019 saw Flintoff co-star alongside Chris Harris and Paddy McGuinness on Top Gear as a host.

He played 79 Tests, 141 One-Day Internationals, and seven Twenty20 Internationals for England before retiring from international cricket in 2009. He was crucial to England’s Ashes victories in 2005 and 2009.

After originally giving up all forms of the game in 2010, Flintoff engaged in one professional boxing match before making a comeback to play Twenty20 cricket in Australia’s Big Bash League for Lancashire and Brisbane Heat in 2014.

After yet another retirement from cricket, he has worked on a number of television projects and made his theatrical debut in 2017’s Fat Friends the Musical. His athletic career has been plagued by ankle and knee issues.
