The Game Awards has not only secured itself as the closest element we’re going to get to the video recreation Oscars but also, essentially, as Winter E3, the place recreation companies drop information and trailers for their upcoming releases and beyond. We’re getting a bunch of world premieres, but add something else. Both host Geoff Keighley and Epic have validated that there will be Fortnite information at the December 5 event.
Fortnite is nominated for a few Game Awards and looks likely to win for a nice ongoing sport and maybe quality multiplayer, given the year it’s had. But the timing of the Game Awards simply occurs to coincide with the day after season 6 ends, and whilst it’s not yet clear when exactly Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 starts, it may additionally very well be that day or one or two days after.
We are probably going to be seeing teasers for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 as early as today, with one to come every day leading up to the grand reveal. And it looks possible that the grand expose could take place at the Game Awards itself, given the timing.
Sure, “news” could suggest a lot of things. Save the World could finally be going free-to-play. Maybe there’s some new toy or product line. Maybe Epic is making any other spin-off mode, which would be huge. But the timing that lines up quite much exactly with Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 looks like it’s the most apparent candidate. I’m picturing possibly some sort of in-game match taking place stay at the Game Awards, which is not out of the realm of possibility given Epic’s ability to execute mass stay occasions fantastically flawlessly between the rocket launch and dice explosion.
The large “mystery” in the run-up to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 has been the approaching storm cloud on the southern horizon of the map. A storm cloud that revealed it was once an iceberg. An iceberg that printed it had what seems to be the tip of a fort on it. A castle the place the lights just went on a late as yesterday. So this element appears destined to be a part of up with/crash into the map someday soon. Soon ample to take place live at the game awards to launch Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4? I mean, I wouldn’t put anything previous Epic at this point, even though if it was once a one-time event, we would be hearing about it beforehand of time so all people may want to stay in-game when it used to be happening.
We know the iceberg citadel is coming, we know snow is coming and there’s a robot lurking around stalking characters. Where this is going is anyone’s guess, however, we are out of the Cube era and into something new now, it seems, and it’s viable the Game Awards may be the jumping off point of that. You can bet I will be gazing to see what’s announced/revealed.
Update: Fortnite has begun teasing Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 with a new photo of an ice…king? They have also said that the Game Awards will now not mark the launch of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4, although the teaser does say it launches that day. There have been hints, however, that this has to do with an in-game match that should show up during the Game Awards as Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 begins.
