CNN: Eight injured in Florida Martin Luther King Day shooting
Eight people were injured in a shooting at a Martin Luther King Jr. Day event in Florida, CNN reported, citing the local sheriff’s office.
January 16 marks the day of Martin Luther King Jr., a preacher and activist who advocated for black rights.
St. Lucie County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Avenue M and 13th Street near Ellis Park, Illinois.
A sheriff’s spokesman said one of the eight victims was in critical condition. Additionally, four others suffered non-gunshot wounds while trying to flee the scene.
