Manchester City defender Pablo Mari has finally completed his £1.3m move to Brazilian side Flamengo.
The Brazilian was once rated a future world class defender which unfortunately enticed City to quickly sign him from Gimnastic in Spain back in 2016.
But, his inability to convince Pep Guardiola he was good enough to break into the first team meant he had to spend three seasons on loan at Girona, NAC Breda and Deportivo La Coruna.
Appreciative of the time he spent at City, he said: “It’s been a real honour to be on Manchester City’s books for these last years and to have had such diverse experiences in three different club”, He told Brazilian Seria A.
“It was a surprise at first when Flamengo contacted my agent, but once we were clear on the club’s vision and my place within this incredible project, i had no doubts that this was the right move.
“To play you home games in the Maracana is a dream come true to anyone who loves football, and i can’t wait to get going”.
